世界杯豪掷千金,救不了现代起亚的中国颓势

在投入了大量的赞助和广告费用之后,如何有效提升品牌整体形象和市场销量才是问题的关键。

四年一届的世界杯终于拉开了帷幕。

一直以来,在竞技体育运动中,世界杯就像一个顶级的“名流”吸引着许多的关注,每当开场的哨声响起,无数人的目光都为之停留。正因如此,世界杯的赞助就显得愈发重要,而被誉为“足球皇帝”的弗朗茨·贝肯鲍尔也曾说过,“在绿茵场上滚动的不是足球,而是黄金。”

在这些前来“淘金”的企业中,车企无疑成为了主力军。据不完全统计,入围本届世界杯的32支国家队中,共有15支球队获得了车企的赞助,这些车企包括现代、大众、丰田、宝马、菲亚特等知名品牌。不难看出,各大车企对于世界杯的热度,也都有着自己的小算盘。

早在开幕式之前,宇通客车就已经借助世界杯火了一把。据了解,卡塔尔为这届世界杯提出了创新、可持续、低碳的办会理念,提倡绿色低碳的出行方式。因此,由宇通客车生产的888辆中国纯电动客车组成的“绿色军团”闪耀卡塔尔国内各大城市。

按计划,这些客车会被用作本次卡塔尔世界杯期间球迷、国际足联官员、媒体记者到球场的官方接驳用车。这不仅是新能源客车首次作为主力服务于世界杯赛事,也是国际大型体育赛事中首次大批量引入中国新能源客车。

换而言之,这是中国在新能源方面的技术进步得到了世界的认可。无论是宇通还是中国车企,都是值得骄傲的成就。

世界杯成为重要营销手段

然而,相较于商用车品牌的宣传营销,乘用车品牌之间在世界杯赛场上的“角逐”更加激烈。作为世界杯赞助商“常客”的大众汽车,是赞助入围本届世界杯球队数量最多的车企。据统计,“大众系”球队共有7支,不仅有上一届世界杯的冠军法国队,还有荷兰、德国、乌拉圭、瑞士、美国、澳大利亚队。

值得一提的是,国家对车企赞助商的名单当中,还有来自中国的企业。上汽名爵(MG)赞助了威尔士队,广汽三菱则是阿根廷国家足球队中国区的赞助商。诚然,MG作为英国汽车品牌的劲旅,虽然被中国车企所收购,但依然在英国有着广泛的影响力。据悉,MG曾赞助威尔士联赛杯,并于2019年正式成为威尔士队的官方合作伙伴。

除此之外,也有中国品牌以自己的方式来搭上世界杯的热度,上汽通用五菱就举办了一场特殊的活动。据五菱官方表示,世界杯期间任意一场比赛最终成绩为5:0,就送出50辆五菱宏光MINIEV,届时官方将通过直播的方式进行摇号抽奖。

有业内人士分析称,世界杯对一家进行全球市场布局的车企有着极高的营销价值。借助世界杯的传播量和热度,可以提升品牌在全球范围的影响力,从而促进其市场份额和营销的提高。

对此,像现代和起亚这样的车企们也是削尖脑袋想要争夺世界杯的赞助权。

据卡塔尔世界杯官方介绍,本届世界杯官方赞助体系分为三个层级,分别为国际足联合作伙伴,国际足联世界杯赞助商以及区域赞助商这三个等级。有意思的是,国际足联合作伙伴为最高规格的赞助级别,具有同品类企业的排他权益。

查看本届世界杯的官方信息,可以看到最高级别国际足联合作伙伴的赞助商共有7家,除了包括万达、可口可乐和VISA等品牌之外,现代起亚也位列其中,由于排他权益,这也成为了本次世界杯最高规模赞助名单中的唯一的车企。在比赛中,可以经常看到场边滚动展示的现代IONIQ(艾尼氪)6以及起亚EV6 GT-Line大幅广告板。

然而,成为官方赞助商的现代起亚似乎并不满足,还是韩国队和克罗地亚队的赞助商。此外,现代还为球员、贵宾和赛事官员提供422辆乘用车和170辆大巴,共计592辆官方用车。其中包括纯电动汽车IONIQ 5、Santa Fe(胜达)混合动力汽车和氢燃料电池巴士Elec City等,超过一半的乘用车和部分商用车将采用环保车型。

另一边,起亚也为本届世界杯组建了由包含80辆新能源车型(EV6 GT-line、索兰托 PHEV和Niro PHEV)在内的297辆乘用车(Telluride、索兰托、狮铂拓界和嘉华)和70辆起亚巴士组成的车队。

事实证明,每届世界杯无疑是一个巨大的流量收集器。据FIFA统计数据显示,2002年韩日世界杯期间,全球累计共有600亿人次通过电视转播等方式观看了比赛。而到了上一届俄罗斯世界杯,全球共有35.72亿人观看了世界杯比赛,几乎占到了当年全球人口的一半。

以2002年韩日世界杯“神豪之一”的现代起亚为例,在当年世界杯比赛日期间,仅现场、电视的广告就为现代带来了超50亿美元的传播价值。在那届世界杯之后,现代在美国汽车市场中的销量大涨40%,消费者对其的品牌认知度从之前的32%一度跃升至67%。同样,那一年起亚在美国和西欧市场也分别实现了37.5万辆和25万辆的销量新高。

提升销量才是根本之道

其实,这些车企会如此积极并花费重金来赞助世界杯,背后都有着相同的考量。当车型名字或者品牌LOGO频繁曝光于媒体的镜头前,可以依靠世界杯的流量来提升企业的知名度,从而间接提高品牌的产品销量。

此外,车企通过赞助国家队,还将进一步提高品牌在该国的影响力。例如,本届世界杯上丰田汽车出乎意料地没有赞助日本队,而是选择了东道主卡塔尔和加拿大。赞助卡塔尔自然不缺少曝光量,加拿大则是丰田最重要的海外市场之一,2021年丰田在加拿大的销量约19.9万辆,仅次于福特汽车。

而作为世界杯官方赞助商的现代起亚,曾被媒体曝出,为了拿到2002年世界杯官方赞助商的名额花费了15亿欧元(约合110亿元人民币)。在投入巨额赞助之后,那一年现代也借助着影响力的持续,与北汽联合成立了新的合资公司北京现代,正式向中国市场进军。

受益于体育方面的营销,2005年,现代汽车集团首次入选知名品牌咨询公司Interbrand推出的“全球品牌100强榜单”。随后排名又持续攀升,品牌价值从2005年的35亿美元上涨到2022年的173亿美元,排名全球第35位。

今年,从韩日世界杯开始已经是第六次赞助世界杯的现代汽车集团,在中国市场方面的表现却早已不可同日而语。北京现代的销量已经是五连跌,2016年北京现代全年总销量为114万辆,到2021年总销量仅剩38.2万辆。

很明显,今年将是北京现代销量连续下滑的第六个年头。另一边,起亚的日子同样不太好过。悦达起亚的年销量从2017年的36万辆跌至2021年的16万辆。在入华20周年之际,现代起亚在国内的这两个合资品牌,市场占有率已不足2%。

对于现代起亚来说,借助世界杯的流量来提高品牌的知名度和影响力固然重要,但这对于销量的影响必然有限。因为,汽车不同于其他快销类产品,广告的传播赋能需要一段时间来逐步释放,产品力或许才是销量最好的推动剂。

现在,已经处于世界排名第三的现代汽车集团,对于目前在中国市场的疲态,也正努力破局。基于E-GMP纯电专属平台打造的现代IONIQ 6和起亚EV6 GT-line预计将会在不久的将来进入中国市场,这将是现代对于电动化转型的重要一环。

除了导入全球车型,现代还将电氢双线战略作为实现“双碳”目标的发展核心。首款符合中国法规的氢燃料电池乘用车——现代NEXO中国版,已经于今年4月正式获得北京新能源牌照,并将于年内在中国正式上市。此外,集团首个海外氢燃料电池系统研发、生产、销售基地“HTWO广州”也即将竣工投产。

在合资品牌身上,北京现代将逐步实现48V轻混和全混在中高级轿车和SUV车型上的全面适用,并实现全系20%产品为纯电动车型的布局计划。除此之外,北京现代和悦达起亚也将依靠现代汽车电动化领域的最新成果E-GMP平台进一步深化纯电动汽车的发展。

想必,现代和起亚两大汽车品牌已经察觉,目前在中国市场的境地似乎都到了背水一战的局面,如若不再力挽狂澜,最后的结果只能是抱憾退出。因此,对于世界杯的重金赞助,也是想通过曝光度来提高在中国乃至全球市场的影响力,让品牌烙印更深入人心。

毫无疑问,每一届世界杯都会随着大力神杯被冠军捧起而结束,其影响力和热度的持续性也固然有限。当欢呼声散去,又能给品牌带来怎样的正面影响,值得现代和起亚深思。但需要注意的是,在投入了大量的赞助和广告费用之后,产品力才是带动销量稳步增长的关键。

尤其,当中国汽车市场的竞争变得愈发激烈,两家韩系品牌面临着自主品牌的不断夹击,曾经走“性价比”的路线也已经不再适用,对于产品的重新规划和梳理至关重要。在现代起亚身上,如今面对中国消费者的每一个动作,都显得格外重要,而又该如何扭转销量方面的颓势,恐怕也不是一朝一夕就能实现的。
