请罗永浩为“即时零售”助阵,美团电商零售

与美团外卖同属一个市场体系的美团闪购所代表的即时零售业务已成为美团发力电商零售的新方向

美团想在电商零售市场有业务突破,就好比司马昭想做皇帝的心情,早已路人皆知。双十一期间,又请来话题性人物罗永浩作为特约骑手(实际就是广告代言)为美团外卖双十一助阵,强调“美团外卖,能卖手机啦”。很显然,与美团外卖同属一个市场体系的美团闪购所代表的即时零售业务已成为美团发力电商零售的新方向。

美团优选、美团买菜、美团电商尚且安在,美团闪购重获发展契机

经过几轮尝试后,围绕即时零售消费市场的美团闪购业务,成为美团零售业务的战略核心,占据了C位。而美团买菜、美团优选、美团电商(团好货),三大业务虽然仍在继续投入,但已不是美团会不惜巨额血本持续重金砸钱的唯一电商战略核心。

根据美团今年Q2财报信息显示,美团二季度营收509亿元,同比增长16.4%;净亏损11.2亿元,同比大幅收窄66.7%;经调整盈利20.6亿元,去年同期为亏损22.2亿元。其中美团来自新业务收入为141.59亿元,同比增长40.7%,Q2美团新业务运营亏损67.9亿元。而去年同期,新业务(及其他)增速最快,收入120.3亿元,增速113.6%,亏损却高达92.38亿元。

美团Q2财报中的新业务包括美团优选、美团买菜、餐饮供应链(快驴)、网约车、共享单车、共享电单车、充电宝、餐厅管理系统及其他新业务。另外,美团电商(团好货)业务也已经被并入到美团优选。不难看出,美团对新业务投入减少,在控制亏损的情况下增速也有所放缓。美团优选已经相继从多个城市退出,今年4月时就曾接连撤出新疆、甘肃、青海、宁夏四个省份,西北区域仅保留陕西省。

美团管理层在Q2财报电话上透露,在第二季度的疫情管控之下,美团买菜收入快速增长,促使新业务亏损率也好于预期。不过美团管理层又提到,如果后续疫情好转,美团买菜业务的单量会有所下滑。此外,美团管理层还表示,将继续在美团优选和美团买菜上进行投入,也会继续提高新业务的运营效率,以增长和减亏为目标。“而且我们有充足的现金流支撑新业务的发展,我们也看好它们的长期发展。我们正在动态地调整我们的业务发展战略,并根据疫情和宏观环境与核心本地商业部门的经营现金流,以及新业务具体发展阶段,来分配资源。”

在远场电商业务方面,虽然美团对团好货的定位从“事业部”降为“业务部”,并划归至美团优先管理,但美团却给予了电商业务品牌和流量升级。不仅将团好货APP升级为美团电商,还在主站首页开辟了电商一级入口,而根据36氪报道,今年上半年,团好货的GMV同比翻了近三倍,有望提前完成8亿的年度目标。不过对比美团每个季度几百亿营收,千亿级的交易流水,才8亿的电商GMV完全是九牛一毛,远场电商业务尚未被美团视为核心业务。

在对待美团闪购业务发展上,王兴在电话会上表示,过去几年美团闪购已经建立了自己的核心竞争力,在配送方面复用了美团遍布全国的即时配送网络,也积累了行业最大的本地商户基础,拥有最多元的本地供给。7月闪购GTV同比增速达到18%,且8月增速进一步上行。王兴提到,美团闪购的长期单位经济效益潜力与外卖相似,并相信它们能够在未来发挥更大的协同效应。这应该算是美团从整个战略层面对美团闪购未来发展的认可。

“即时零售”是新的共识概念

要知道在美团电商零售业务布局当中,“美团闪购”是最先成立的,于2018年7月18日正式亮相,之后是2019年1月开通测试的的“美团买菜”,再之后是2020年7月成立的“美团优选”,最后才是2020年8月推出的“团好货”。在业务成立发展的时间节点上,美团闪购是最早的,而在前两年的美团战略资金投入上,美团优选和美团买菜的地位要远远高于美团闪购。美团闪购在没有巨额资金的投入刺激下取得了积极的正向增长,而消费市场的发展趋势似乎一夜之间突然转向即时零售市场。

对此,作为美团闪电仓加盟商的「近距梨·超选便利」联合创始人丁健解释道,这是95后和00后在养成外卖消费习惯之后,自然而然的会选择在美团上解决即时性的消费需求。丁健强调,年轻消费群体对外卖的认知已经发生根本性转变,而外卖一词自带的餐饮属性太强,一般人理解起来不能完全涵盖对商品消费的认知,而即时零售一词与商品的零售属性更契合。

「社区超连锁」认为,跳出美团平台之外看,京东也在用京东到家和达达两块业务积极推动即时零售业务,同时美团买菜、叮咚买菜等生鲜电商,以及盒马、物美等大商超的线上业务也都属于即时零售的范畴。也就是说,无论从95后和00后逐渐成为年轻人消费的主力群体,还是从生鲜电商不断发展进步来看,都需要一个可以达成共识的市场新概念,而美团和京东现在都紧紧抓着“即时零售”的共识概念。

美团电商布局,该调整的需要缓一下,该推进的可以提提速

充分意识到即时零售市场趋势,是美团制定电商战略底层逻辑。我们可以换个角度看这个问题,假设年轻消费群体不在美团外卖平台上购买非餐商品,美团做零售还有其他选择么?答案已然有结果,美团能选择的方式,之前已经做了选择,美团买菜、美团优选和美团电商都做了尝试。

然而美团在做这三个业务的时候,相当于都是从零起步,美团外卖除了可以导入流量外,仓储运输和渠道供应链的能力极其薄弱,可以从财报中直观的看到,美团就是在用巨亏的方式来完善电商业务的底层构建,同时刺激用户积极消费,以换取美团买菜和美团优选的增长。

美团优选本来是美团在战略层面不惜血本要持续投入的项目,但在政策监管之下,不得不做出合规调整,不能再以亏损换规模的业务发展逻辑去抢市场。前不久,美团优选重新定位自己是“明日达超市”实则就是合规的表述,也是对品牌的升级。在三四五线城市的普通人眼里,“社区团购”是什么,他们并不能直观认知,但用“超市”一词则深入人心,而“明日达”的定性前缀,想向用户表达的意思也非常清楚。此外,美团优选是可以用超市定位缓解监管层面对社区团购负面认知。

至于美团买菜业务,因为前两年在全力主推的美团优选快速向三四五线城市渗透,所以并没有急于的去推动美团买菜的扩张,虽然模式不同,但在主营的生鲜品类上,美团优选与美团买菜有相似性,有美团优选冲在前面,美团买菜是可以根据市场变化做及时调整的。每日优鲜的结果,侧面表明美团没有去激进扩张买菜业务是合理的选择,在一二线城市虽然生鲜电商是刚需,但却是一个需要考验综合运营能力的事情,需要时间和经验的积累。

美团在美团优选和美团买菜上的投入不会停止,但控制亏损,减少投入,提高效率是接下来的运营重点,Q2的财务数据和财报会上的官方表态也都直观的说明了这一点,美团买菜和美团优选要“缓一下”进行优化调整。

而在美团电商业务发展方面,在即时零售的市场环境下,有美团闪购以近场电商的方式去扩充美团平台上的商品消费品类,也就不急于用传统的远场电商方式来增加平台可售商品种类了。美团何必以己之短去搏彼之长,还不如充分发挥自身在即时零售市场的流量优势和配送优势,迎合当下消费趋势,以己之长的集中精力去发展即时零售业务。

浙商证券发布的《即时零售行业专题:平台VS自营、美团闪购VS京东到家》报告里分析到,截止21年底,美团闪购用户人数是京东到家5倍左右,订单量是京东到家平台6倍。此外,美团闪购与外卖共用骑手资源,经10余年发展美团外卖现有有骑手500余万,京东到家+达达仅刚到百万量级,配送网络密度行业最大,更强的规模效应。美团平台MAU约4亿多人,京东主站MAU约1亿+,美团闪购比京东到家更有流量优势。

当用户在美团上养成即时零售的消费习惯,未来可以自然的转化成美团远场电商的用户。所以美团现在急于做的是养成用户在平台上购买非餐商品的习惯,所以美团在不断引入KKV、名创优品等各大线下知名零售商入驻,甚至阿里系的苏宁易购也与美团闪购达成全面合作。以美团闪购为基础,来扩充平台非餐类目,满足用户对商品即时消费的需求,至于未来用户是选择平台上的远场电商商户提供的商品,还是即时零售商户提供的商品,对平台而言都一样,只要用户留在平台消费,美团都是笑到最后的赢家,所以与发展即时零售的急切性相比,美团电商的发展可以缓缓。

用“三缓一进”来形容美团优选、美团买菜、美团电商和美团闪购的关系或许会比较贴切。在社区团购领域,美团优选面对多多买菜和兴盛优选没有竞争优势,一时间也难以决胜,发展节奏可以缓一下。在生鲜电商领域,每日优鲜给美团提了个醒,生鲜电商急不得。在远场电商方面,京东和阿里先后被拼多多和抖音挤压,美团现在有必要逆势去投入传统电商业务的建设么?

对比之下,现在是美团闪购得天独厚的发展机遇,一旦可以借此机会取得大成,未来也可以在业务协同上盘活美团优选、美团买菜、美团电商三大业务。所以,接下来一段时间,美团闪购会成为美团电商零售业务中走在最前面的主力军。

近距梨联合创始人丁健表示,之所以会在杭州选择做美团闪电仓,除了看到年轻用户的消费变化外,也看到近期美团闪购在即时零售业务方面的一系列积极运作,例如与苏宁合作、请罗永浩代言等,这些都只是在媒体舆论上看到的,在实际运作闪电仓项目的时候,官方会从开仓选址、SKU选品、商品上架、后台操作、活动发布等给予全程指导,甚至连菜单页排版顺序细节都有指导建议,而且近期加盟闪电仓的商户也越来越多,可以直观的感受到平台上的激烈竞争氛围。
