摆烂17年,如今降价求生:比阿迪还惨

无印“凉”品?

你上次去无印良品是什么时候?

很多人的回答是:打折的时候!

作为性冷淡鼻祖,无印良品的高傲和奢侈品牌不相上下,开在LV旁边,只进高端商场。

但如今,它的高光时刻,似乎只存在于它的折扣日。

很多人对于无印良品的态度,仍然是“逛逛可以,买单没门”,因为就算降了11次价,它还是太贵了。

从财报中也可以看出,2022年上半年,无印良品的经营利润下跌19.4%,净利润下跌27.5%.

半个财年营收仅7.3亿人民币,这与预期的234亿营收,还有相当大的差距。

不仅如此,无印良品在中国的营收,比预期中还少了3.5亿人民币,被迫降价的无印良品,多少带有几分“讨生活”的意味。

“临期特惠”和 “50%OFF”的牌子背后,无印良品的中国观,正在遭受重击。

01 主动降价11次,大家还是只逛不买

无印良品在中国定价,向来是粗暴无礼的。

要知道无印良品发家的人设是“便宜好用”,但进入中国市场后,无印良品就进化为“无印贵品”。

它在日本和中国的地位差距,从开店的地址就能看出来。

在日本,无印良品出现的地方往往是超市、地铁站或街边杂货铺。

在中国,无印良品第一家店就开在世界上最贵的商业街之一——上海南京西路上,他的邻居都是LV、苹果、耐克等品牌。

为了把租金的窟窿补上,无印良品摇身一变,把自己包装成“高品质、小奢侈”品牌,还顺带提高了客单价。

过去无印良品的价签,会标注同一款产品在各国的价格,在中国的价格,就是日元除以10。

当时中日的汇率是1:12,再算上税费,稍微贵一些大家也还能接受。

但这个比例,整整持续了10年,直到2014年,无印良品才开始第一次降价,要知道现在中日的汇率早就变成了1:17。

无印良品社长松崎晓曾透露,无印良品中国想在2020年前把中国市场商品售价,降到与日本市场商品售价同一水平。

这个目标显然没有实现,从2014年到现在,无印良品经过了11次降价,但整体价格算下来仍然很贵。

比如它的一款拉杆箱,在中国内地定价1528元,网上代购1300元,而在日本同款箱子只要900元。

这价格差,就是赤裸裸的智商税。

在中国的购物环境下,不是百亿补贴,都很难撩动消费者的购物欲。无印良品平均1年降两次,一次降几块钱的方式,对于中国消费者而言,实在鸡肋。

无印良品越是降价,消费者越有种被欺骗的感觉。这种负面感受,让不少粉丝丧失了品牌信任感。

无印良品在日本一直享有高性价比的称赞,但《日经MJ》在中国的调查显示,只有17%的人认同这个观点。

公司在2021年报中也写道:近年来,业绩增长步伐放缓,主要是对于日常商品来说,价格偏高。

可见,无印良品什么都知道,奈何赚钱太轻松,让他们选择忽略用户反馈。

但过去无印良品在中国市场的价格观,如今正在被狠狠打击。

很多消费者对无印良品的印象都是,“它值得逛,但不值得买。”、“我买得起,看看价签又放下,最终空着手走出无印良品。”

在线下无印良品的门店里,哪个货区的人最多?答案是折扣区。

每到无印良品的折扣季,消费者们都会掀起一阵狂欢。

但无印良品的折扣有多疯狂,就折射出品牌有多落寞。

02 设计可以性冷淡,但质量不行

除了因价格贵变得处境尴尬,无印良品的品牌观也正在被中国市场教育。

性冷淡+高质量,是无印良品的基本人设,也是价格高的底气。

但这些年,无印良品安全问题频发,使它“人设”逐渐崩塌。

从2005年进入中国市场,靠着性冷淡的设计风格,无印良品一路高歌,直到2017年才出现首次负增长。

这一年,在315打假晚会上,无印良品的超级黑料被曝出:一些贴着产地为日本的食品,揭开标签后,产地居然是核辐射污染过的东京都,有关部门明令禁止进口!

日本人不吃的东西,贴了个假标签,拿来给中国人吃,无印良品解释说:这一切都是一场误会!

这次“误会”之后,几乎每年的质量检测,无印良品都没缺席。

2018年,MUJI某门店拒绝配合抽检工作,随后就被曝出10批次服装不合格。

2019年,无印良品有三款瓶装水,被检测出致癌物质,全球召回了59万瓶。

2020年,11件检测不合格的家具,有7件来自无印良品。

2021年,又因为2批次童装抽检不合格,被罚款3万元。

从食物到家居再到服装,无一幸免。

但面对这些问题,无印良品改了么?

没有!

无印良品每次的处理方式,都是淡化事情严重性,然后道歉,继续再犯。

仅2020年,无印良品(上海)商业有限公司,就因为质量问题被罚了4次,还上了“2019-2020中国家居十大质量黑榜”。

对此,无印良品的回应是:“我们被媒体黑了”。

傲慢的态度,让很多死忠粉都望而却步。

过高的价格,加上拉胯的质量,和过去性冷淡的“轻奢”的定位,让无印良品陷入尴尬。

过去,无印良品宣传自然、简约的性冷淡风格,给人们留下的“环保安全”、“质量极佳”的正面印象。

事实上,无印良品许多商品都是“Made in China”。

在国内制造完成后,再去日本兜一圈,运出海关后标好日文标签、再按照供货计划分配、重新进关打上中文标签后,回来就变成高大上的进口货。

这就使得,性冷淡风依旧火爆,但大家却不再选择无印良品。

在很多平台上,MUJI风平替的工厂货,逐渐成为无印良品粉丝的选择。

小红书上搜“MUJI平替”,有不少博主整理出MUJI产品在1688上的代工厂和平替品的帖子。

在价格和质量双双出问题的时候,它不再是那个“只要开店就能大卖,只要制作商品就能大卖”的无印良品。

03 讨好中国人,求生欲需要更强

日渐低迷的销量,也激发了无印良品的求生欲。

这些年无印良品一直没有停止折腾,试图讨好中国人!

过去,无印良品公司内部有一套13册的工作流程指南MUJIGRAM,还有另一本长达六千余页的“业务规范书”。

即使中国市场,也要完全按照规则行事, 一条适合中国床铺的床单尺寸,花了整整14年,才调整过来。

但从2018年开始,无印良品开始组建“中国团队”,并在2019年3月推出的“中国需要”系列商品。

像天津煎饼果子味的薯条等地方特色产品,都透露着明显的“讨好”意图。

但无印良品的求生欲还是不够。

2021年11月,无印良品在上海瑞虹天地,开设了中国首家生鲜复合店,但开业首日,老年人是消费的主力军,与无印良品的“中产”目标用户群体明显不符。

无论是餐饮和酒店的引入,无印良品都坚持高端定位,深圳的MUJI住宿一晚价格在950元左右,比同类酒店高出不少。

无印良品的求生,好听点说是为品牌宣传打造场景,但现实点看,就是什么赚钱做什么。

从这个角度看,无印良品的这一系列自救,更像是一场对营业额的自救,而不是对中国市场三思而后行的结果。

如今国潮兴起,年轻消费者对欧美日韩品牌的崇拜感正在削弱,且对价格更为敏感。

想买高端设计感的产品,有钱人更偏爱小众品牌,已经成为牌子货的无印良品out了;想买性价比产品,中国有太多国潮国货产品选择。

在这种情况下,无印良品及其所代表的中产生活光环不再。

结语:

无印良品的这些努力中,又想维持高端,又想用降价“收买”用户,但消费者却并没有那么买单,归根结底,是无印良品失去了成功的土壤。

2001年,gap进入中国;

2005年,无印良品在上海开了第一家店;

2006年,Zara进入中国;

2007年,H&M入华;

2008年,优衣库走出江浙沪;

2009年,无印良品一下子开了9家新店;

2010年,宜家把开店速度提高了三倍;

在这10年里,中国人的消费水平上涨,钱包里有钱,洋品牌需要做的,就是教中国人花钱。

谁够独特,谁就能获得市场,无印良品爆火的底层逻辑是:简约的生活方式,和优质的产品,这才收获了中产的喜爱。

与其说是无印良品在中国创造了神话,不如说这是中国市场的神话。

降价都卖不动,归根结底是中国的消费者成熟太快,心存侥幸的无印良品反应太慢。

丢掉个性,失去口碑,抹去特色后的无印良品,还能靠什么搞定中国人?
