4月26日,在湖北咸宁第五座自建工厂里,元气森林举办发布会,推出全新可乐味气泡水。

元气森林气泡水产品负责人许荟表示,1.0版本的可乐味气泡水在2022年上市,收到许多反馈,有不少人说这款可乐味气泡水的口味喝起来很清爽,不甜腻。许芸表示,不少消费者对1.0版本的可乐味气泡水进行反馈,比如气泡不足、甜得不舒服等。

元气森林气泡水品牌负责人虞海宇表示,“可乐”是一个复合的风味,对甜度或酸度的细微调整都会影响整体的风味,经过不断盲测和迭代,实验了上千种配方,升级后的可乐味气泡水的调研喜好度较1.0版本的可乐味气泡水大幅提升。“升级后的2.0版本可乐味气泡水不仅在口味上有提升,口感上也进行了升级,并且气更足。”他表示。

据了解,未来一个季度,元气森林会举办超过5000场的线下推广的活动,进入全国115个城市,超过70万家线下终端门店。同时,元气森林还将在一、二线城市的写字楼分众平台、近期大热的综艺对可乐味气泡水进行定制化宣传。

现场,罗永浩通过视频形式提出疑问。“很多国内企业都做过可乐,但最后好像都没成功,做可乐感觉是作死。”

而关于发力可乐的初衷,元气森林创始人唐彬森表示,在国内饮料市场中,各个品类都有大量品牌参与,“但在可乐这一庞大的市场上,居然从来没有几个品牌敢做。我希望可乐不再是禁区,只是被看作一个口味”。关于是不是“作死”发力可乐,唐彬森认为要“认真参与,坦然接受”。“元气森林的可乐味气泡水配方应该是经得起挑战的,未来还将继续迭代升级。”他表示。

“元气森林内部正在筹备港股上市,发力可乐,也是希望能够接轨国际大企业,讲出更长远的故事,当然,也有利于资本市场进行估值对标,在二级市场获得更多认可。”有多位接近元气森林内部的人士告诉零态LT(ID:LingTai_LT)。

这场“中国可乐梦”,能助力元气森林实现上市宏图伟业吗?在这之外,一个显见的事实是,自2022年开始,一直标榜“0糖0脂0卡”的元气森林,开始努力耕耘有糖市场,推出了含糖版的电解质水“外星人PRO”、含糖版的柠檬茶“超可”、含糖版的柠檬气泡水“浪”。似乎,元气森林终于意识到了,无糖可能是个替代品,糖才是那个大生意。

01 上瘾物,糖,才是大生意

无糖,从来不是新鲜事。

远在40年前,可口可乐就看中了无糖生意,推出了健怡可乐,如果这个市场真那么大,有正宗祖传可口可乐加持的健怡可乐怎么就逐渐销声匿迹?如果健怡还不能证明,那20年前,可口可乐又推出了零度可乐,零度可乐也一直不温不火?

是可口可乐渠道不强?从大商超到社区便利店,有可口可乐的地方就没缺过零度可乐。是可口可乐一直没有砸下重金?要知道100多年前,可口可乐可没怎么用力就成了美国国民级的饮料。是可口可乐研发不行?普利策奖获得者迈克尔•莫斯在其畅销书《盐糖脂:食品巨头是如何操纵我们的》详细描述的科学家们是怎么计算可口可乐等含糖饮料的满足点,如何让消费者欲罢不能的,他们真没在反复尝试的无糖饮料投入研发资源?还是说经过了40年的推广,各种数据的比较,可口可乐意识到了无糖怎么卖都卖不过含糖的?

当然,这里肯定有人会说,为什么巨头们没有率先使用赤藓糖醇?赤藓糖醇和三氯蔗糖、安赛蜜、阿斯巴甜、木糖醇的区别对普通人,就像孔乙己天天强调的“茴”字的四种写法一样,存在这个必要吗?要不你问问那些知道元气森林用了不一样代糖的人,他们中有多少人能准确的、按顺序念出“赤藓糖醇”四个字?

说到底,无论是饮料,还是零食,真正的大生意都要顺着人性而为,人在几十万年进化中,早就对盐糖脂产生了极度的依赖,即使诸如《盐糖脂:食品巨头是如何操纵我们的》如何抨击,各种营养学研究如何揭秘,各种专家如何爆料,只有加了盐糖脂,以及咖啡、茶、可可等等上瘾物,人们才会上瘾,产品才能长红,才能成为大生意,不加上瘾物,没人上瘾,所以只能昙花一现。

那问题来了,曾经火的一塌糊涂的元气森林为什么要开始“糖”起来了?

我在《潮流:品牌引爆、出圈背后的秘密》一书中详细分析过,简单说,还是要归功于便利店。在711、全家、罗森的货架上,遍布价格10块钱的日本饮料中,一个价格只有二分之一的新饮料,是不是有着极强的吸引力?

新奇的产品,强烈的气泡冲击力,假装日本饮料的身份,对标其他进口产品的价格优势,再加上“0糖0脂0卡”是不是快速击中日常在711、全家、罗森消费的年轻人?

然后就是将爆品铺到各个渠道。就像2022年的爆品“一整根”,一个他们团队都没想过会火起来,已经开始着手设计下一款产品,一样。

可假的真不了,被媒体们揭开了“伪日货”的标签后,元气森林逐渐褪去了进口货的光环,没有了价格优势,失去了新奇的光环,能卖的不是天花板没那么高的“0糖0脂0卡”,就是天花板高可跟0糖背道而驰的“加糖”。

没钱的才做选择,财大气粗的元气森林选择了“我全要”。

02 游戏思维下的增长乱局

为什么元气森林会推出无糖可乐?

回答这个问题要从元气森林曾引以为傲的“用互联网思维做消费品”开始说起,或者应该说是“互联网游戏思维”。

众所周知,唐彬森是游戏出身。开发一款游戏,核心机制确定后,首个可玩版本得到验证后,正式版获得市场好评后,后续主要的工作是不是就成了围绕核心机制,在正式版上进行版本的迭代,推更多的关卡、上线更多的副本?推出更多的皮肤是不是就能变现赚钱了?

如果把外星人、纤茶、满分、乳茶、超可、浪等新的产品线看成一个又一个的副本,把白桃味、柠檬味、卡曼橘味、荔枝味、草莓味…甚至可乐味看成是皮肤,有没有豁然开朗

说白了,唐彬森只是将开发游戏的方法套用到消费品上。可乐味元气森林无非只是一个皮肤,至于卖的好不好,市场会给出答案,况且相比其他口味,可乐味的皮肤不早就被市场验证可行了吗?至于前面的提到的那些“副本”,不也是早就被验证过的品类吗?

可问题就在这里,隔行如隔山,消费品不是游戏。

游戏副本不好,砍掉,付出的只有研发成本,皮肤不受欢迎,下线,付出的只有设计成本、推广成本,可消费品呢?生产出来的饮料卖不掉,砍掉?还是下线?或者像中学教材里万恶资本家一样,把卖不掉的饮料倒掉?砍掉、下线不可能,倒掉相当于把钱打水漂,除了放在仓库、货架上等着过期、变质,只能打折促销。

从2022年开始,元气森林已经频繁出现在各种临期、特卖、打折促销的渠道,原价6元一瓶的元气森林降到2元一瓶已成为渠道的共识。更有像樱花白葡萄、乳酸菌、石榴、草莓等口味已经到了降价都卖不出去的地步。

经销商们对元气森林销量下滑更为敏感,据媒体报道,

在华中地区,一位城市经理要求业务员每天卖出150箱产品,但平均算下来,只能完成一半。西北的一个小县城,一家夫妻店的老板说,本该一个星期卖完的货,卖了三个星期还没结束。

这还是气泡水,元气森林旗下动销比最好的产品,外星人、纤茶、乳茶等产品更是出现了“套买”:比如当经销商希望拿30箱白桃味气泡水时,会被要求买走若干箱乳茶。

即便如此,2022年元气森林销售回款也仅有约80亿~90亿元,同比增长在10%~23%之间,与唐彬森在2021年年末表示的未来三年保证50%~60%的年增长相差巨大。

似乎越来越多迹象表明,游戏思维让元气森林进入了一个死循环,想要GMV更进一步就需要推出更多的“副本”、上线更多的“皮肤”,可又因为无糖这个人不是那么喜欢的物质,大部分新口味成了炮灰,元气森林又不得不想尽办法清理这些库存,以至于元气森林将KPI定在了销售回款。方法不重要,卖的出去才重要。

2022年已成过去,那2023年呢?

一手抓产品,继续产品创新,不添加山梨酸钾、苯甲酸钠等防腐剂,加更多的气,“击喉感”更强,以及糖,这一刻在人体基因里的物质;一手抓渠道,加强经销商体系建设,开拓更多渠道。

生产更新更多的产品,在更多渠道销售就能持续增长吗?

03 元气森林能走多远

抖音里一个辞职在长沙家里开便利店的博主@梅好 分享过这样一段经历,原本以为元气森林火,两个月却只卖出一瓶元气森林,还是朋友买的。退了冰柜,还想退货,与元气森林业务员协商数日,业务员的说法是谁收回的货谁卖出去。

渠道铺了,新口味做了,可元气森林怎么长沙新一线城市、被誉为网红城市的长沙不香了?还是同样的答案,消费品不是游戏,游戏可以用各种手段把用户忽悠进来,再让他们沉迷,再付费,接着付费。

消费品呢?先掏钱才能体验,顺序的差异,天地之别。

你以为让一个人掏钱买单很简单?两块钱的矿泉水?在711、全家、罗森横空出世是因为日本伪装,是因为相比动辄十块钱进口货的性价比优势?可到超市、普通便利店、小卖部,货架上,花花绿绿五颜六色高矮不一的瓶装水中,凭什么大家选五块钱的你?而不是你旁边三块钱的可乐、冰红茶?

如果渠道和创新就能解决问题,那农夫山泉为什么花那么大精力找水源地建厂,诠释“天然水”?为什么与娃哈哈康师傅、怡宝一轮又一轮的论战?为什么从农夫山泉有点甜进化为大自然的搬运工?为什么农夫山泉大费周章就是为了让消费者认同“天然水”?不就是为了占领心智吗?

为什么王老吉一掷万金生生砸出一个“怕上火喝王老吉”?

为什么可口可乐用一百多年的时间打造快乐氛围?

为什么雪碧一直以来打造酷爽的形象?

这下子明白了为什么被所有营销人推崇的《定位》的副标题叫“争夺用户心智的战争”?

可元气森林在消费者的心智是什么?是最早的“0糖0脂0卡”?是充满想象力的“元气”二字?是日系感十足的标签“気”?就算是这些吧,现在呢?用加糖颠覆了“0糖0脂0卡”,用换标的“气”替换了“気”,用多品牌运营策略稀释了“元气”,当其他产品正在为用户心智争夺的热火朝天之际,元气森林正在努力抹掉消费者对其模糊的印象,恐怕到头来剩下的只有名气。

旭日升、健力宝、天府可乐、大白梨都曾名噪一时,现在呢?过气“网红”而已。

更何况,起于一二线便利店,兴盛于小红书等社交媒体的元气森林,仅仅就是一个在一二线城市年轻人中有点名气的饮料。在一二线城市以外,元气森林只是一个新瓜蛋子,其影响力甚至不如雷碧、康帅博这些抱大腿、蹭热门的山寨品牌。
