年入30亿,这家公司靠奥特曼卡牌掏空家长

做生意的人,不相信光。

如何追随奥特曼,成为光?

00后对“奥特曼”的记忆停留在迪迦时代:神光棒用掉几节电池,把自己从幼儿园变到了小学。“我买过迪迦变身器,飞燕一号,还有个能放飞机的基地模型,”何涛回忆道,“幼儿园那会儿,男孩们人手一个神光棒。”

10后的答案则截然不同:路过傍晚时分学校附近的小卖部,总能看到三三两两的男孩聚在一起,手里攥着各色奥特曼卡片,脚边零碎的包装清一色印着“卡游”。

“兄弟们换卡吗,我多一张特利迦红GP,你们谁有……”

不知从何时开始,承载着Z世代童年信仰的动漫IP奥特曼再次“踏光而来”,成为了10后小朋友的社交新宠。

只不过,曾经的奥特曼活跃在荧屏上,传递“光之信仰”,不花一分钱;而如今的奥特曼化身卡牌,在盲盒属性的加持下,成为了风靡学校的社交货币,并掏空家长们的钱包。

一个名为卡游的公司,正在把光的英雄,变成圈钱的工具。

“班里的同学都在玩”

由卡游公司推出的这款奥特曼系列卡牌有多风靡?陈岚向AI蓝媒汇(ID:lanmeih001)讲述了儿子CC的入坑经历。

第一次购买是在2020年秋天,陈岚带CC逛商场的时候,在文具店看见了印有奥特曼海报的货架,被海报吸引进店就看到最显眼的前排货架上陈列着一盒盒奥特曼卡,“孩子想要,就给买了几组小包装的,大约有几十张,花了60多元。”

很快,CC班里的男同学们也都开始带着这个牌子的奥特曼卡册来到学校,课间和午休的时候从书包里翻出来交换展示,互相比较着谁的卡更多,谁的星级更好。

“我同学有很多满星的卡,特别厉害。”言语之间,CC向家长表达着对同学的羡慕。

于是,在那个星期五,陈岚的购物筐里,除了6包卡片之外,还多了几本同样印着奥特曼的卡册。CC把喜欢的卡按照不同的星级、卡种分册,多余的仍放在盒子里。

陈岚和孩子定好,往后的每个周末都去一次文具店或者卡游的旗舰店买卡,一次一盒。“出新卡的时候会多买一些。上一次出传奇版17弹的时候,买了总共一百多张,一共花了不到200块钱。”

事实上,在家长看来,奥特曼卡牌单价并不贵,几毛钱到一块多一张,一套8张的普通版卡片10元左右,偶尔买来满足孩子的愿望,算不上负担。但架不住公司经常会出新系列,孩子们在喜爱和攀比的心理影响下,总是想要集齐所有的系列,日积月累就成为了一笔不小的开支。

陈岚自己计算,从20年开始,每周买卡的花费在一百元上下,偶尔二百多。“两年下来,给奥特曼花了约有3万多元。”

“身边不少孩子都玩奥特曼卡,大家都玩的时候你不玩,你就没法融入这个群体”,比起开支,陈岚更担心孩子被孤立。奥特曼卡“顺理成章”地成为了孩子们的社交货币,10后已然需要融入消费文化,来获得“小伙伴们”的认同。

陈岚所述,在更广泛的社交媒体上也得到印证。就在不久前,一条#家长花200万给娃集奥特曼卡没集齐#的话题冲上热搜,引发广泛讨论,不少家长声称自己同样深陷奥特曼卡牌的烧钱漩涡。

而在小红书、B站,以及淘宝卡游旗舰店的买家评论区里,也充斥着对“卡牌套路深”、“带坏孩子”、“吃相难看”等负面评价。

反游戏规则,比盲盒套路更深

卡游公司推出的这款卡牌,并非市面上首个奥特曼卡牌,而这种集卡的形式相信身为家长的80、90后也并不陌生,为何这一次能够引发如此影响?

或许,除了IP本身热度高、设计精美等因素之外,更重要的原因来自于卡游公司设置的“沉迷机制”。

“与正常社交属性的不同之处在于,游戏卡片有一个沉迷机制”,在接受《法制日报》采访时,北师大学法学院副院长点名了奥特曼卡,“利用博彩方式,让你不停地往前走。”

拆解奥特曼卡牌的模式后,AI蓝媒汇发现,这种未被定义为“盲盒”的集换式卡牌,却比盲盒“套路”更深。

据不完全统计,卡游制作的奥特曼卡牌,总共分为普通稀有卡、超级稀有卡、传奇稀有卡、传说稀有卡……最稀有卡等23个级别。

而卡牌的分装,同样被分为了奇迹版、传奇版、星云版、星辰版、黑钻版……等十余种不同的卡包、卡盒。

什么概念呢?

众所周知这类抽卡游戏,无论线上线下,商家都会通过区分等级,设置概率来吸引玩家入坑。等级越多、概率越低,集齐的难度也就越高,玩家需要投入的成本也越大。

举例来说,线上游戏以“氪金抽卡”闻名的手游《阴阳师》,人物n到sp有5个分级,手游《崩坏3》从b到s有四个角色级别,《原神》有四星和五星两种角色。这样的分级已经造就了它们不俗的吸金能力。

当把这三大氪金游戏的卡牌分级加在一起,再乘以2,都不及奥特曼卡分级多。这也就是为什么,几毛钱一张的卡牌,能够源源不断掏空家长们的钱包。

根据官方的描述,每种包装所能开出“稀有卡”的概率也不尽相同,唯一的共同点是:内容未知,概率不明。翻看卡游旗舰店的评论区,不少用户在评价中提及了“卡片重复”、“好卡概率低”。

简言之,游戏、盲盒都有规则,奥特曼卡没有——野蛮生长,套路重重。

而且,据玩家透露,卡游每30天左右还会推出一批新卡,扩充现有卡池。“买卡的速度追不上出新卡的速度,除非下大力气砸钱,否则这辈子都别想集齐全套。

“新卡包里面不一定是新卡,奥特曼卡一直是新老混买。”包括CC在内,不少玩家表示新卡包里也未必有多少新卡,旧卡和重复的卡倒是一大把。

“重复率挺高的,孩子现在换出去的、扔掉的,比收进卡册的还多。”

商店老板告诉AI蓝媒汇,正常开学的时候,奥特曼卡比零食更好卖:“没几天就要补货,是开学期间早晨晚上都有学生来买。放学比较多,小男孩都爱买这个。”

说话间,店里有两个小朋友进来,停步在卡盒面前,熟练地用手表刷完付款码,转身撕开了卡包,“ ***,废卡、废、废……”

套路背后,年入30亿的卡游公司

无视游戏规则,叠加深不可测的套路,奥特曼卡这桩生意背后站着的卡游公司,自然赚得盆满钵满。

据相关机构统计,截止2022年,卡游在奥特曼集换式卡牌领域的国内市场份额已超过九成。尽管卡游并未公开业绩,但据消息人士透露,卡游每年的营收约为30亿元人民币,净利润超15亿元,奥特曼系列产品贡献了其中的绝大部分,营收排名第二的IP“斗罗大陆”的营收仅为奥特曼的十分之一。

这么好赚的生意,自然也引发资本青睐。

有消息显示,2021年,红杉中国基金旗下的投资基金收购了卡游3%的股份,目前卡游估值已达10亿美元级别,跻身独角兽行列。

投资人的看好,并非源于卡游一家的异军突起。事实上在此之前,拥有类似商业模式,同样推出奥特曼卡牌的华立科技已经于去年6月,率先登陆资本市场。

根据华立科技财报显示,2021财年公司营收6.27亿元,同比增长47.55%;归属于上市公司股东的净利润5253万元,同比增长14.06%;包含奥特曼卡牌的动漫IP衍生业务营收同比增长156.52%至1.75亿元。

2020财年,奥特曼卡牌为华立科技带来了4168.02 万元营收,在其动漫IP衍生产品业务总营收(6821.9万)中占比高达61.1%。

而这只是行业第二的吸金能力。考虑到卡游近两年在奥特曼卡片消费市场庞大的份额,吸金能力可见一斑。

事实也正是如此,在小朋友玩家和家长群体源源不断的付费支持下,卡游公司的奥特曼卡也在逐步升级渠道,从学校门口的文具店、精品店的货架上,一步步走向购物中心的旗舰店。

AI蓝媒汇走访了位于某市大悦城的卡游实体店,店面位于童装区的核心地带,对面是Nike Kids,隔壁是麦当劳。比“卡游”logo更引人注意的,是门口的巨幅奥特曼海报、橱窗中旋转的迪迦、泰罗模型。店员很实在:“我们这的商品,七成都是奥特曼。”

目标人群是谁,不言而喻。

通过批发商将奥特曼卡牌在学生所及的任何地点铺开,将旗舰店设立在儿童区域人流量最密集的关口,牢牢锁定了基数庞大受众群体。奥特曼卡牌对目标用户的选择,清晰而精明。

用孩子们的攀比心理和社交需求诱导消费,用未知的出货率、重复率、纷繁复杂的卡片分级、卡包质量,不断扩容的卡池,从做生意的角度,卡游无疑是成功的。

让人费解的,只是旗舰店侧墙上这句“相信我,你也可以变成光”——奥特曼卡的生意打着“光”的标签,却造出了一级又一级的吸金黑洞。看起来,做生意的人,做奥特曼生意的人,不需要了解奥特曼,更不需要相信光。
