京东与“老五茅”们的恩怨

白酒企业与渠道商产生价格纠纷,因此停止合作本不是什么新鲜事,二者的关系反而在矛盾摩擦中越绑越紧。

以泸州老窖、五粮液、茅台为代表的酒企,希望“京东们”在价格框架以内替它们卖货,而京东为了普惠消费者,也没惯着“老五茅”们。

11月10日以来,泸州老窖因与京东在产品价格方面的纠纷,向京东发送了《暂停合作函》一事还在发酵。无独有偶, 五粮液也以京东“违反合同规定”为缘由,扣除了给予京东的365万元市场支持费用。

白酒企业与渠道商产生价格纠纷,因此停止合作本不是什么新鲜事,二者的关系反而在矛盾摩擦中越绑越紧。 

早在2014年,酒类电商平台酒仙网就被传因低价出售名酒,被多家酒企以“扰乱市场价格”为由进行“封杀”,2015年茅台更是发布声明打算终止与酒仙网的合作。而酒仙网2020年的财报却显示名酒茅台、五粮液分别占据白酒总收入比例的30.97%、18.65%,合占公司整体总收入的37%。 

以泸州老窖、五粮液、茅台为代表的酒企,维护自身利益的动作方式早已熟练,卖“水”的生意也不愿错过任何渠道,此次以京东为靶来势汹汹,但也为未来恢复合作留有余地。

良心酒企,不割穷人

国家统计局数据显示,2022年一季度,全国规模以上白酒企业959家,实现利润总额537.6亿元,与上年同期相比增长48.7%;亏损企业亏损额6.9亿元,比上年同期增长72.0%。由此可见,我国白酒产业集中度进一步提升,头部效应明显。 

白酒高端化成为行业趋势,运用奢侈品策略对产品进行提价是最快的见效方式。

国窖1573作为泸州老窖旗下的高端酒系列,近年来频繁采用“涨价+停货”的组合策略,其出厂价从2010年的509元涨到现在的1200元以上,市场建议零售价更是调整到1399元,价格向飞天茅台看齐,只为抢占高端白酒市场。 

高溢价成为酒企在行业周期调整之际的“保增长”手段,同时也效果显著,2022上半年泸州老窖白酒业务的毛利率达到了86.18%。 

造成产品高溢价的原因,一是如泸州老窖这般,酒企主动对产品进行提价;二是以茅台为代表的酒企经销商体系产生的弊端。

以茅台为例,其线下销售渠道主要是经销商通过订酒会向酒厂订货,再进行后续的多级经销商销售,期间产品价格层层加码,最终形成终端的高价格。同时,经销商为了获取更高利润,往往会压货、延期售卖,无论酒厂出多少货,市面上始终只流通一定数量的产品。

长此以往,市场培养了消费者“茅台有价无市”的心智认知,配合酒企的营销策略,茅台成为了不折不扣的“酒中奢侈品”。

2021年,贵州茅台直销渠道的毛利率达96.12%,经销商渠道毛利率达90.30%,毛利率之高为行业之最。 

有专业人士曾分析过一瓶零售价为1499元的53度飞天茅台的成本构成:其中生产成本含原料约48元,占比3.2%;销售与市场费用约46元,占比3.1%;管理费用约78元,占比5.2%;经销商费用约495元,占比33%;交税约96元,占比6.4%;利润约736元,占比49.1%。 

高得吓人的毛利率意味着产品从出厂到终端,其中有着巨大的利润空间,各方利益不会放过。“买茅台还得靠关系,靠关系买到的还不一定是正品”、更有传言“市场上流通的85%的茅台都是假的”、“天价酒的拍卖大多都是酒企自导自演”……这些行业内公开的秘密恰好说明了这一点。 

茅台酒发展到今天,人们最关心的已经不是产品品质,而是对品牌身份的认同,“酒中奢侈品”的标签对应着社交、投资、收藏等稀缺的产品属性,其高溢价也逐渐变得理所当然。

市场经济的本质是让商品更好更高效地流通,酒企采用的“奢侈品策略”反其道而行之,强调产品的稀缺性、神秘性与贵族性,通过限量、提价等手段标榜自己的特殊身份,再用品牌在市场长期积累下来的高价值把握产品议价权。 

经销商体系是酒企实行“奢侈品策略”的基本盘,而电商平台销售酒类产品价格透明、甚至让渡自身利益惠及消费者。

经销商的销售额占据白酒企业总销售额近九成,电商平台虽然销售增速快,却只占总销售额的一成。在新旧渠道相争之际,高端酒们自然不会“捡了芝麻,丢了西瓜”,这也是泸州老窖们敢和京东等电商平台公开翻脸的原因。 

“老五茅”要面子,京东要消费者

万亿规模的白酒市场对于电商平台来说是极大的增量,京东不是第一个卖酒的电商平台,但如今却已成为了国内最大的酒类零售电商平台。在卖酒这条路上,综合性电商平台想要取得成绩,就要面对传统线下经销商与实力强劲的酒类垂直电商平台的前后夹击。 

对于传统线下经销商来说,区域限制是一个无法破解的难题,加之疫情影响,到店消费场景减少,库存积压等难题迎面而来。深耕私域,或转身拥抱新零售,是不少酒企寻求破局的新方式。

综合性电商平台站内品类丰富,能够覆盖到极大的消费面,庞大的活跃用户群体为酒类品牌拓展了更多增量空间。截至2022年9月30日,天猫商城用户已经突破10亿,万元消费用户达到1.24亿。今年第三季度,京东用户已经发展到5.883亿人,京东plus会员突破3000万人。

庞大的用户基数就是流量,以京东为例,京东酒业依托于京东超市这一消费场景与平台提供的流量,以较为透明的价格接触到更多消费者,并在服务消费者的过程中,借助大数据,结合消费者浏览、购买、收藏的习惯,匹配不同的商品展示,实现多元用户转化。 

与此相对应的,综合性电商平台也会利用名酒的稀缺性,在购物节等营销节点以优惠券、折扣等促销手段吸引消费者购买,为平台引流。 

有消费者表示,今年双11,叠加京东站内发放的优惠券,泸州老窖旗下的国窖1573系列单瓶最低到手价为908元/瓶,仅比产品批发参考价高出3元。

京东此类举动压缩了经销商的利润空间,也招来了泸州老窖的《暂停合作函》,但对于消费者来说,电商平台让渡利益普惠消费者,是他们喜闻乐见的事。 

酒类垂直电商平台虽然以更专业的形象示人,博得消费者信任,但在售前、售后的服务阶段没有形成自己的优势,物流运输服务只能依靠快递公司。酒类产品属于易碎品,运输成本较高,如果不能和快递公司达成深度合作,只怕难以控制这项成本。此外,渠道库存分散、淡旺季运输情况差异大等管理问题也在考验着酒类垂直电商平台。 

而综合性电商平台有着更强大的物流能力,京东的自建物流就是最好的例证。

值得一提的是,京东近年来仍在对零售物流体系进行不断的优化布局,今年7月,京东完成对德邦物流的收购,8月对达达集团组织架构进行重大调整。第三季度京东能够实现净收入突破,很大程度上与“达达+德邦”带来的贡献有关。 

2009年酒仙网诞生,开启了酒类电商时代,作为当时领先的酒类垂直电商平台,酒仙网拿下了多家知名酒企的线上独家授权,让消费者买的放心。 

消费者买酒的最大痛点之一,就是怕买到假酒,要确保供应渠道正规,就需要和酒企建立深度合作关系。 

2014年及以后,京东先后与五粮液、古井贡酒、洋河、牛栏山、茅台等知名酒企达成战略合作,在京东站内设置酒水“京东自营”与酒企“官方旗舰店”两大版块。有了酒企的信任背书,京东的产品从此打上“正品行货”的标签,也有了充足的货源。 

尽管当下白酒企业的销售仍然依赖线下经销商,但以京东为首的电商渠道因其覆盖面广,存在新的增量市场,同时拥有能够精准洞察消费人群的大数据营销工具等新型优势,也是酒企不可忽视的新增量。 

花式酒饮,放不倒年轻人

高端酒们在存量市场那边尽显高傲,在年轻人这块增量市场上却要费尽心思。 

90、95后人群作为酒水市场新的消费增长群体,被寄予厚望。有数据显示,传统白酒企业们自2018年以来,至少推出了200多款“青春小酒”,借此培养年轻人喝白酒的习惯,争夺增量市场份额。 

但国内酒水市场的飞速发展让年轻人有了更多新选择。 

在线上市场,各式鸡尾酒、果酒、葡萄酒等品类包围白酒。在线下市场,“日咖夜酒”的概念走红,双重场景加持为消费提供了更多可能性;精酿啤酒也因为丰富、独特的口味受到广大年轻人的欢迎。 

在外部环境方面,疫情使得白酒自身的消费场景与社交功能都在减少。社会范围内,年轻人的饮酒理念变得更加健康,例如“健康饮酒”、“适度微醺”。相比之下,高度数酒对应的消费理念,如“一醉解千愁”、“一醉方休”,显得有些陈旧。 

11月21日,茅台酒今年含税销售收入突破千亿元,纵览全年,茅台酒营收增速逐季放缓,恰恰印证了酒企们的担心不无道理。 

年轻人喝酒,酒才有未来。白酒企业们不一定认同这句话,但该做的却一点没有落下。

2019年,泸州老窖即与雪糕品牌钟薛高联名推出“断片雪糕”,内含52度泸州老窖。2022年5月,茅台联合蒙牛出品“茅台冰淇淋”,先后在自营电商平台i茅台、线下旗舰店上线。 

泸州老窖、茅台尝试以年轻人喜爱的雪糕、冰淇淋为载体,接触因昂贵价格望而却步的潜在消费者,进一步强化旗下高端产品在新生代群体心目中的“奢侈品”形象。 

只不过,白酒的高端化策略并不适用于钱包干瘪的年轻人。茅台冰淇淋推出新口味或许会引起年轻人好奇,促使其消费,但按照一杯茅台冰淇淋2%的“含茅量”计算,一瓶飞天茅台可制作近300盒冰淇淋。茅台冰淇淋溢价10倍于飞天茅台的价格,无法说服年轻消费者长期购买。 

同理,相较于水深门道多的线下经销商,单纯的年轻人更愿意选择价格透明、实时可见、便捷的电商平台。

在存量市场,对高端酒趋之若鹜的中年人有钱有闲,已经默认了现有的市场规则;而在增量市场,年轻人尚有多种选择。不同于传统销售渠道的规训,电商平台以一种开放的姿态,为消费者提供了充分选择的机会与物美价廉的产品,既满足了消费者的面子,也保证了消费者的里子。 

因此,新渠道与新消费人群增长势头强劲。 

无论如何,传统酒企想要寻求新的增量,都不能再用旧产品旧渠道一以概之,想让新兴渠道遵守旧时规定,平台和消费者都不会买账。
